Jan Bamford

Jan currently serves as a First Vice President and Marketing Manager in BNY Mellon's Corporate Marketing Department. In her role, Jan oversees BNY Mellon's corporate-wide thought leadership initiative, a global eminence-building program that involves promoting the firm's subject matter experts through the company web site, electronic communications and other multimedia channels. Prior to joining Corporate Marketing, Jan served in a senior marketing and communications role in Global Client Management, BNY Mellon's strategic sales organization. While there, Jan provided targeted sales support and marketing/communications assistance to senior sales executives interfacing with major institutional clients in the financial services and insurance industries.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in October 2003, Jan worked as a Competitive Analyst in Deloitte's public sector consulting practice. Earlier in her career, Jan held a variety of editorial and communications positions at the University of Pittsburgh. She started her professional career as a newspaper reporter in Willoughby, Ohio and later served on the editorial staff at the Pittsburgh Business Times.

Jan earned a BS degree in Journalism from West Virginia University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to the Pitt Business Alumni Association, Jan serves on the Board of Directors of POWER, the Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery, an organization whose mission it is to help women reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction to alcohol and other drugs, and reduce the incidence of addiction in future generations.

Jan and her husband, Ron, are avid Pitt football and basketball fans. They spend most of their spare time renovating a Queen Anne Style Victorian home in Pittsburgh's Regent Square neighborhood.
