Barbara Mistick (MBA '92) To Be Next President of Wilson College

Barbara K. Mistick

Barbara Mistick, whose leadership turned around the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, was named president of Wilson College, a private liberal arts school in Chambersburg, Pa. The college's Board of Trustees unanimously approved Mistick's appointment on March 1. She will assume her new post July 1.

As president and director of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Mistick initiated a $55 million capital campaign, the first in its history, to modernize neighborhood libraries systemwide. This effort resulted in significant investment in Pittsburgh neighborhoods providing a range of library services and programs for children, teens, and adults and facilities that accommodate new collections and technology.

In 2010, Mistick was honored by the Business Alumni Association with its Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Founded in 1869, Wilson College offers bachelor's degree programs for female students 18-24 years of age and Adult Degree Programs (ADP) for women and men over the age of 24. Wilson students can select from more than 40 fields of study. The college also offers the Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Teacher Certification Program. Wilson enrolls more than 300 traditional students and more than 400 ADP students.
