Mitchell Appointed Chief Operating Officer, Crane Co.
Pitt Business Board of Vistors member Max H. Mitchell (MBA '89) was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of Crane Co., a diversified manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products. Mitchell was formerly president of Crane's Fluid Handling Group, which represents 46 percent of the manufacturer's sales. He was the driving force behind significant overall improvement in business performance in the Fluid Handling division by reorganizing end markets and strengthening sale force execution, new product development, lean manufacturing, and supply chain optimization.
Mitchell's extensive operations and management experience includes leadership roles at Pentair Inc., Danaher Corporation, and Ford Motor Company.
