Internships

Students are encouraged to do multiple internships during their time in the program. While students are responsible for securing their own internships, the Berg Center office facilitates internship placements by connecting students with organizations In addition; the Berg Center maintains a database of previous internships completed by the Certificate Program in Leadership and Ethics students and contacts at those companies.

The Berg Center stresses the importance and necessity of the internship experience to our students. While we are aware that many of these internships are unpaid, we would like to encourage participation. In order to achieve this, we will provide our students with a scholarship to alleviate financial burden. Eligible candidates will be evaluated based on their academic qualifications and the criterion of the company.

Also, students have access to the information system called SIMON, which can be accessed at www.cbasimon.com, where students will find links for finding, interviewing, and excelling in internships. J.P. Matychak in the CBA office is available to help with this process.

Another helpful resource is the website of the Regional Internship Center of Southwestern PA at www.ric-swpa.org.

For more informationabout internships, contact Melissa Walawender, Berg Center coordinator.
