Internship Café
On Friday, January 19, CBA’s Office of Leadership Development hosted its annual Internship Café at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association in Oakland. This year, the event drew a record attendance, with nearly 200 CBA freshmen, sophomores, and juniors attending.
Program participants attended corporate panel presentations focusing on internship opportunities in different industries; sessions on public accounting, accounting and finance, finance, financial services and sales, and marketing; observed a mock interview conducted by a corporate representative; and participated in a round-robin-style networking session that allowed them to interact with three companies of their choice.
Representatives from more than twenty-five organizations were in attendance to explain what companies look for in an intern. According to the CBA Office of Leadership Development, successful candidates have business related skills and, through coursework and previous experiences, demonstrate their potential to learn new skills while interning.
