Pitt Business Celebrates Grand Opening of Financial Analysis Lab >
On October 3, business faculty, staff, students, and corporate partners gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the Pitt Business Financial Analysis Laboratory. The event included a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by an interactive demonstration in the lab.
CBA's Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda Takes National Leadership Conference by Storm >
Several thousand members of Phi Beta Lambda, the world's largest and oldest business student organization, from colleges and universities across the country gathered June 21-24 for the organization's annual National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, GA. The University of Pittsburgh College of Business Administration's chapter was represented by five delegates and advisor Kate McConnell, director of CBA's Career and Leadership Development Center. The annual conference includes competitive events and workshops for students. The four Pitt students who participated in competitive events all placed in the top 10 of their respective events. CBA Students "Shake It Up" in National Honda Marketing Competition >
CBA congratulates Associate Professor Bob Gilbert and the 23 CBA marketing students enrolled in his Projects in Marketing class. The group recently won a national marketing competition sponsored by American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and organized by EdVenture Partners. The competition, The Accord Coupe Marketing Challenge: New Car, New Generation, allowed students at 17 colleges across the country to compete against each other in raising awareness and purchase consideration for the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe on their respective campuses.
CBA Expands Course Offerings >
CBA introduced two new courses to its curriculum for Spring 2008: BUSQOM 1730 Managing Global Supply Chains and BUSMKT 1427 Public Relations Management. Each course offers a fresh dimension to the electives available as part of the BSBA degree.
