CBA Expands Course Offerings

CBA introduced two new courses to its curriculum for spring 2008: BUSQOM 1730, Managing Global Supply Chains, and BUSMKT 1427, Public Relations Management.  Each course offers a fresh dimension to the electives available as part of the BSBA degree.

BUSQOM 1730: Managing Global Supply Chains is a three credit course that uses modeling and business strategy to explore the management of the flow of materials, information, and funds through networks of suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and customers. CBA students electing to enroll in Managing Global Supply Chains do so after completing the business core course Operations Management.   Managing Global Supply Chains is recommended for students interested in launching careers in management consulting, information systems, and marketing areas such as product development and product management.

BUSMKT 1427: Public Relations Management is an in-depth exploration of public relations principles with a focus on public relations as a strategic tool in the marketing process. The course examines how public relations can be used to help introduce new products and services, manage crisis situations, and build corporate credibility. Students will also learn to develop sound writing skills specifically for public relations. Public Relations Management is an upper-level course aimed at marketing majors, especially those interested in pursuing careers in public relations, advertising/sales promotion, and marketing communications.
