Admissions
Nontraditional Students
Several private and public colleges in Pittsburgh offer programs tailored to the experienced professional and mature learner. With so many competitive alternatives, why should you consider CBA?
CBA does not offer an accelerated program for nontraditional students, a Saturday degree program, or “credit for experience.” What CBA does offer is a high-quality degree program, a national reputation, a good selection of evening classes every term, special opportunities to earn credit, and services for nontraditional students to accommodate their busy schedules and specific needs.
We encourage you to apply for admission into the College of Business Administration’s degree program. In some cases, however, we may require that you begin your coursework through Pitt’s College of General Studies, then apply to transfer into CBA after you have completed the required prerequisites to business courses and have begun fulfilling the BSBA general-education requirements. You may also complete the same courses at a community college.

Nontraditional students can apply for freshman or transfer admission.
Nondegree Status
Students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree and would like to take undergraduate business classes for personal or professional development may contact CBA for a special application. Please call CBA admissions at 412-383-9600 or request the application through E-mail (please include your full name and address).
CBA College-Level Exam Program (CLEP) Policy
Nontraditional students may wish to “test for credit” to fulfill elective and/or general-education requirements by successfully completing selected CLEP exams prior to completing 15 credits in CBA. A maximum of 15 CLEP credits may be applied to the degree. Scores for subject exams must be at the 65th percentile for credit to be awarded. Business and business-prerequisite requirements may not be fulfilled through CLEP exams. You can visit www.collegeboard.org for information on the CLEP exam or view CBA's CLEP policy. Contact CBA admissions or your advisor if you have further questions.
