Internship for Credit
As early as your PittStart, CBA Career Services stresses the importance of career development experiences. CBA's Internship for Credit [IFC] program allows you to receive academic credit for your work experience.
To be eligible to apply for an IFC, you must:
- Be a CBA student
- Have completed one semester at the University
- Have a GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Work for a minimum of 10 hours a week for 10 weeks during the semester you intend to take the Internship for Credit
In addition to submitting the application to CBA Career Services, you must also submit a signed hire letter and job description on company letterhead.
Some important information about the Internship for Credit Program:
- You may only receive credit if you are enrolled for the internship course at the same time you are performing the internship
- Taking an internship for credit is like enrolling in any other CBA class, meaning you will be responsible for meeting with your faculty advisor, completing assignments, as well as meeting all of the financial responsibilities related to taking a course at the University of Pittsburgh.
- You may receive up to six internship credits, but only three per semester, and no more than three credits for an experience.
