  • CBA Career Services offers online resume and cover letter reviews through our website.
  • Be sure to update your CBA Connect account every semester. Your GPA and year in school are not automatically updated.
  • Are you getting emails about positions and events not related to your major or year in school? Make sure your CBA Connect academic profile is accurate.

  • Practice your interviewing skills with a Mock Interview with the CBA Career Services staff.
  • What is your differentiation strategy? Stop by CBA Career Services to find out how to stand out in a competitive job market.
  • Do you have three professional references? Be sure to identify faculty, supervisors, advisors who can serve as effective references.

  • CBA Career Services has walk in hours everyday. Stop in for quick questions about CBA Connect, how to find internships, to get your resume and cover letters reviewed. No appointment needed.
  • Use the NACELink search option in CBA Connect to look for positions outside of Pittsburgh.
  • You can have multiple versions of your resume on CBA Connect. They can be targeted to specific industries and positions.
  • How old is your resume on CBA Connect. Be sure to upload your new resume into your CBA Connect profile.
  • There is a salary calculator on CBA Connect under the Shortcuts links on the right hand side.
  • Use Goinglobal to get information on working and living in another country. There is a job database for 35 countries. You can access this database through CBA Connect.
  • Use CBA Connect for more than just looking for a career development experience. You can schedule appointments, RSVP for events and manage all aspects of your career goals.
  • You can set up Search Agents in CBA Connect that will automatically search the system and notify you when new positions are posted.
  • When researching an organization, be sure to find out what their competitive advantage is and who their competitors are.
  • Always be prepared to ask questions at the end of the interview. Be sure ask things that show your understanding of the company.
  • Do you have an effective closing to use in an interview? Be sure to stop in CBA Career Services to find out how to seal the deal.
  • Does your cover letter clearly demonstrate your skills and abilities or is it just a generic letter? Stop in to see one of our PDCs to learn more about cover letters.
