CBA Connect User Guide

CBA Connect is CBA Career Services' recruiting software system. Only CBA students and alumni have access, allowing you to gain employer information, view and apply for job postings and on-campus interviews, as well as register for CBA Career Services events.

This document provides instructions on how to log-in and use the system. If you have any specific questions or comments about CBA Connect, please contact CBA Career Services at (412) 383-7319.

How To Log In:

  • Go to my.pitt.edu and log in with your account username and password
  • At the top of the page click "My Communities" and then click the "My CBA" link
  • Click the "Login to CBA Connect" link to the left

You can also log in to CBA Connect through the www.pittcbaconnect.com. Your username will be your full Pitt email address and your password will be your Peoplesoft ID number.

Getting Started - Create Your Profile :

  • Click the "Profile" tab
    • Before any resources can be utilized, you must create a profile
  • Fill in all text boxes with a red asterisk
    • Make sure you complete all of the forms (i.e. once you have completed the personal information tab, click the academic information tab, etc.)
  • Once this form is complete all resources available on CBA Connect become available

Documents:

  • Under the "Documents" tab, you can upload resumes, cover letters, unofficial transcripts, writing samples and other documents. You need to have a resume in the system to apply for job postings and on-campus interviews.
    • To upload any document just go to the "Documents" tab and click "+Add New"
  • The "Resume Builder" feature helps you organize information and put it together into a first resume
  • The "Document Library" stores all programs from past CBA events and many helpful guides. You can find information on resumes, cover letters, interviewing tips, etc.

Search for Internships & Jobs:

  • "Jobs on CBA Connect" links to the all the job postings offered through CBA
    • These positions are available only to CBA students
    • Narrow your search by selecting job types, industries, hire status
    • Watch for application deadlines so you do not miss out on any opportunities
  • "NACELink Nationwide Job Network" links to a more nationally focused job search engine
    • Start by searching for keywords such as "sales" or "accounting" and specifying location
  • "University Career Services - FutureLinks" links to the Career Services' webpage where you can login to FutureLinks, a database of jobs available to all Pitt students
    • You must be signed in to my.pitt.edu before accessing FutureLinks
  • "Regional Internship Center for SWPA " links to an outside internship search center
    • You must create an account on RIC before you can apply for jobs

Participating in On-Campus Interviews (OCI):

  • If you have been preselected for an interview on CBA Connect click the "Interviews" tab, then click the "Interview Requests" tab. The company that has requested to interview should appear here, and you just need to select an available interview time slot.

Please note CBA Career Services has a OCI cancellation and no show policy. You must cancel interviews no later than 2 business days before the scheduled interview date to avoid a penalty. To cancel Online: Login to CBA Connect. Select Scheduled OCR Interviews from Quick Links. Identify the appropriate interview under Scheduled Interviews and then select Cancel . You need to contact CBA Career Services directly if your timeframe is past the 2 days prior to interviewing. You can find CBA Career Services' cancellation and no show policy in the document library section of CBA Connect.

Registering for CBA Career Services Events:

  • Check the "Events" tab frequently to find and sign up for Info Sessions, Workshops and more.
  • By clicking RSVP you are automatically signed up for that event

CBA Career Services requires that all students participating in events or scheduling appointments with CBA Career Services cancel registrations or appointments in advance if they cannot keep the commitment. You can Cancel Appointments Online: Login to CBA Connect. Select "Calendar". Then click "Counseling Appointment". Click "Cancel" next to the appointment that you wish to cancel.

Note: You will only be able to cancel online 24 hours or more in advance of the appointment. If you do not see the "Cancel" button, then you've missed the online cancellation deadline and must contact CBA Career Services directly.

Making an Appointment with CBA Career Services Staff :

Creating Appointments with Advisors and PDCs:

  • Click the "calendar" tab, then the "Counseling Appointments" tab. Under details fill in the most applicable type of appointment and the corresponding counselor.

Cancel Events Online: Login to CBA Connect. Select "Events". Then click "Workshops and Other Events." Find the event you wish to cancel and click the "Cancel" button.

If you do not see the "Cancel" button, then you've missed the online cancellation deadline and must contact CBA Career Services directly. You can find CBA Career Services' cancellation and no show policy in the document section of CBA Connect.

Explore the Employer Database & Other Resources:

  • The "Employers" tab houses a list of approximately 800 companies.
  • Use this section to research types companies and industries that interest you.
  • This section also tells you when specific employers will be on campus and what positions they are recruiting for.

You are also linked directly to the Vault On-Line Career Library (which provides information and resources on exploring careers to fine tuning your job search skills), Going Global, and Pitt's Career Network - providing alumni contacts for informational interviewing and career advice.
