Study Abroad Coordinator Brings Enthusiasm and Experience to Role
New Study Abroad Coordinator- Krysta Hougham
CBA welcomed a new team member to its Study Abroad staff this year. Krysta Hougham took the reins as the CBA Study Abroad coordinator in October 2007 and has quickly acclimated to life at Pitt. Originally from Minnesota, Hougham filled her student years with study abroad experiences in Greece and Italy, a semester off-campus interning for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C. Hougham earned a bachelor's degree in political science.
Recently, Hougham spent four months traveling abroad with her husband. The trip included visits to 18 countries throughout Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. The countries of Cambodia and Laos, as well as the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia were some of her favorite spots.
The position of CBA Study Abroad coordinator brings together several of Hougham’s key interests, including working with students, business, and international travel. She expresses enthusiasm for her new position and is impressed by the quality of the CBA students she has met so far. “I am really enjoying working with the students here and helping to direct their educational course," Hougham says. "The students in CBA are high caliber and well organized. They are willing to step up and take ownership of their international experience.”
