Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
The College of Business Administration’s primary degree program leads to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). Majors include accounting, finance, general management, global management, and marketing.
The BSBA curriculum consists of three components:
- Arts and Sciences Courses (54 credits)
These basic-skill and general-education courses prepare students for future courses. - Business Core Curriculum (42 credits)
These required courses apply to all BSBA students. - Major Course Requirements (15–21 credits)
Each major has specific, required courses. These are listed in the Accounting, Finance, General Management, Global Management, and Marketing sections.
Each component is essential to your preparation for a career in business.
A total of 120 credits are required to earn the BSBA. Depending on your choice of major, several additional electives of your choice may be required to reach the 120-credit minimum required for graduation.
CBA students can earn certificates, double degrees, and minors.
Arts and Sciences/Business Dual Major
The Arts and Sciences/Business Dual Major is available for A&S students who want to complement their degree with a general business major. Students enrolled in this program complete a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree through A&S and incorporate a broad-based foundation in business consisting of 12 business courses.
A&S students may apply to the dual-major program at the end of their freshman year or as incoming transfer students. Students must earn a minimum of 120 credits to complete the dual major (more credits may be required, depending on the requirements of particular A&S majors).
The A&S/Business Dual Major Handbook (PDF) helps Pitt students (as well as students at other institutions) make decisions about applying for admission to the program. This guide also includes all key policies and requirements applicable to the A&S/Business Dual Major.
