LLC Admissions & Application Process

Membership in the CBA Living Learning Community floor is open to freshmen who have been admitted to the College of Business Administration. Because space is limited to 45 students—about one sixth of the incoming CBA freshman class—we are looking for students who are eager to get involved, plan, and participate in the many social, cultural, academic and pre-professional programs that are offered to LLC residents. Applicants to the CBA LLC should be students who want to hone their leadership skills and make their own unique, positive contribution to the community.

CBA LLC residents are expected to abide by all University of Pittsburgh rules and regulations and CBA LLC guidelines, which include:

  • the Student Code of Conduct;
  • the Pitt Promise;
  • acting in a manner that positively represents the LLC and the College of Business Administration, both on and off campus;
  • working collaboratively with the RA and fellow LLC members to explore opportunities within CBA, the University, and in the City of Pittsburgh;
  • participating in a minimum of three programs per semester.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply to live on the CBA LLC floor, you must be admitted to CBA for the fall semester, and you need to have paid your tuition deposit. Any questions regarding the admissions process can be directed to:

Application Process

Applications will be reviewed through May 20.

The CBA Living Learning Community is a collaboration between CBA and The Office of Residence Life. CBA applicants must complete a two-step process:

  1. CBA portion: Complete the online application. You will be notified via E-email approximately a week after your electronic CBA LLC application has been received. (If you have any problems submitting your application, please contact Kathleen Rafferty, Academic Advisor and Liaison to the CBA Living Learning Community at krafferty@katz.pitt.edu.)
  2. Panther Central portion: You must electronically submit your online Housing/Dining Services Contract by the due date stamped on the information packet, which you will receive after the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid has received your tuition deposit.

    When asked to indicate your housing preferences on the Panther Central Housing/Dining Contract, list your backup choices in order of preference. In other words, please indicate the residence halls that you would like to live in if you are not admitted to the CBA LLC floor. For example, if your first choice is the CBA LLC, and your second choice is Litchfield Tower B, list "Litchfield Tower B" in the preferences section.

    If you have questions about the Housing/Dining Services contract, you can contact Panther Central at 412-648-1100, or at pc@bc.pitt.edu. They are also available on the Web at http://www.pc.pitt.edu.

Notification

You will be notified by the end of May as to whether or not you were chosen to live on CBA LLC floor.
