LLC and CBA Communities Mix and Mingle at Reception

Members of the CBA Living Learning Community recently had the opportunity to network with members of the CBA faculty and staff at an evening reception. About 40 freshmen were in attendance at the event, which was held on Wednesday, September 24 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in Jazzman's Café, Mervis Hall. Students enjoyed appetizers, punch, dessert, and meeting key members of the CBA community.

In his welcome remarks, Dean Delaney emphasized the importance of students building relationships with members of the Pitt Business community and exploring career opportunities early. He also stressed the fact that he truly values students' input on their experience at CBA, encouraging them to visit him at his office to share their opinions.

In attendance were Dean Delaney, Associate Dean Palascak, faculty members such as Bob Atkin (Managing in Complex Environments), Bob Gilbert (Marketing), Vicki Hoffman (Accounting), Ray Jones (Business Environment, Certificate Program in Leadership and Ethics), Cait Poynor (Marketing), and Jo Olson (Director of the International Business Center). Staff members present were Liz Adams, Director of CBA Advising, and members of the Academic Advising team: Michael Kijowski, Chris Curd, Kevin Riley, Bill Lieb, and Kathleen Rafferty (Academic Advisor and Liaison to the CBA LLC). Also in attendance was Rich Fann, Resident Director, Sutherland Hall, Office of Residence Life.

The LLC offers students the benefits of direct access to important resources within CBA. Events like this one allow students to interact informally with individuals likely to play an important role in their academic careers.
