Study Abroad

The College of Business Administration encourages all students to study abroad. Living, studying, or even working in an international setting can enhance your business education and global perspective. Your time abroad can also be one of the most exciting and enjoyable parts of your undergraduate experience.

The University of Pittsburgh Study Abroad Office has a satellite location in Sennott Square. Students are welcome to visit this office and to schedule a meeting with CBA’s study-abroad advisor Krysta Hougham.

In addition to specialized advising for CBA students, this office has established unique study-abroad programs designed to complement the business curriculum. These and many other program options make up the wide variety of choices that CBA students have in choosing when, where, and for how long to study abroad.

In recent semesters, CBA students have opted to study abroad in the following places, among others: Kyoto, Japan; Copenhagen, Denmark; Freiburg, Germany; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria; Nicosia, Cyprus; London, England; Paris, France; Florence, Italy; Sydney, Australia; Madrid, Spain; Monterrey, Mexico, and Cairo, Egypt. In addition, CBA has an exclusive direct relationship with four prestigious business schools abroad, including: Euromed Management in Marseille, France; Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain; The European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany; and Rouen Business School in Rouen, France.

CBA freshmen also have the opportunity to participate in PLUS3, a two-week, three-credit international study trip. PLUS3 takes place at the end of the freshmen year and is an optional component of CBA’s introductory business course, Managing in Complex Environments. The program includes sightseeing, company visits, and cultural activities. Recent destinations have been: Augsburg, Germany; Beijing, China; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Valparaiso, Chile.

CBA students with an interest in international business may choose to pursue the global management major or the Certificate in International Business. Both have a required study abroad component.
