Q: What is a non-degree Management Development Certificate program?
A: No University of Pittsburgh credits are awarded for management development, certificate programs. All of our programs are certified as Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses through the Pennsylvania Board of Accountancy.
Q: Where are these Certificate programs held?
A: All programs are offered at the University of Pittsburgh, Oakland Campus on the fifth floor of Alumni Hall across from the Cathedral of Learning. The fifth floor is named Mellon Financial Corporation Hall.
Q: How do I register for a Certificate program?
A: Register online or call 412-648-1600 to register over the telelphone.
Q: Do I need to purchase anything?
A: No. Program tuition includes books and all related material. Lunch is also provided.
Q: Should I bring my laptop?
A: Classrooms and break-out rooms have built-in high-speed internet access through a direct connection to the University of Pittsburgh system.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Business casual
Q: Are there special meals available?
A: Participants with special dietary restrictions should contact us prior to attendance.
Q: When is payment due?
A: Payment should be mailed in advance or brought to the first day of class. However, invoices have a 30-day grace period to allow for company processing. Checks should be made payable to “University of Pittsburgh.” We also accept credit cards--Visa and MasterCard only.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Course fees are fully refundable if written notification by mail, fax, or e-mail is received by the 7th day before the course start date. Cancellations made less than 7 days before will be charged a 25 percent cancellation fee. If you fail to attend a course without providing notification of cancellation, the full course fee will be charged. To avoid penalties, a substitute may be sent in your place.
Q: What is the attendance policy?
A: To receive CPEs and a certificate of completion, students must complete at least 80 percent of the program.
Q: Are scholarships or financial aid available?
A: No financial assistance is available for non-degree certificate programs.
