The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA®) has updated the curriculum of the CMA exam to a new two-part format. The new curriculum more closely aligns with the knowledge, skills, and abilities that an accountant or financial professional in business uses on the job today-financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support. These skills are critical to the success of finance teams. The new CMA exam allows an employer to more readily understand the applicability of the CMA to a corporate career path and allows the candidate to more efficiently demonstrate proficiency in the skills tested by the CMA. The goal of the new CMA program is to ensure that the CMA remains the most appropriate designation in the world for accountants and financial professionals working in business.
CMA's are professionals driving business performance. Those who have earned the CMA credential have demonstrated both technical competencies and an understanding of the linkage between strategy and financial performance, grounded in a firm commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.
The Pitts Business Center for Executive Education uses IMA's CMA Learning System version 3.0, a state-of-the-art study program delivering today's most comprehensive, customized learning experience to prepare for the new CMA exam. It combines live courses, IMA study materials, and online practice tests to assess one's overall progress and to prepare him or her for success on the CMA exam.
These instructor-led review courses will be delivered in two convenient courses, mirroring the two parts of the CMA exam.
Overview
Join a leading group of professionals who have advanced beyond the practical accounting skill set by earning IMA's prestigious global certification, the CMA®. IMA's 20th Annual Salary Survey indicates that professionals holding CMA certification have greater earning power-24 percent higher in salary and 31percent higher in total compensation-than their noncertified colleagues (Source: Strategic Finance magazine, June 2009).
This program is offered in cooperation with IMA as exam preparation for the CMA exam. The CMA Learning System version 3.0 is based on the newly-revised CMA body of knowledge.
While the primary focus of this course is to prepare individuals for the CMA exam, the course is also an excellent professional development tool for helping individuals advance their career in accounting, finance, or business management.
