Developing Leadership Skills

Learning how to develop and/or improve your leadership skills through practice and constructive feedback.

About This Seminar

This is a hands-on workshop designed to facilitate the development and/or improvement of your leadership skills by practicing effective “influence” behaviors in various contexts such as interpersonal, team, and inter-team situations. These situations will involve your active participation in decision-making, observation and feedback tasks. Participation in this workshop should be both an enjoyable and learning experience.

You Will Learn

By attending this workshop, you will:

  • Participate in a highly interactive training program which has received rave reviews from thousands of past participants
  • Get an objective assessment of your present communications, decision-making, and leadership behaviors
  • Get an opportunity to practice “influence” behaviors in a non-threatening environment
  • Learn how to receive and provide effective feedback
  • Receive constructive feedback from peers as well as trained observers
  • Develop a personal plan to improve your leadership skills on the job

Special Feature

Due to its highly interactive and participative nature, this is a limited enrollment workshop so as to provide adequate airtime for each participant. Also, many of the sessions will involve small groups of five to ten participants. Some of these sessions will be facilitated by trained professionals who will provide constructive feedback to participants.

Program Faculty

Raghu Nath is President of the Institute for the Development of Human and Organizational Potential and Professor (emeritus) in the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to teaching and research, he has worked widely as a management consultant. Professor Nath has designed and delivered professional development workshops for a variety of clients in the United States and abroad.

Professor Nath received his PhD degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served as chairman of the Organizational Development Division of the Eastern Academy of Management and Chairman of the International Division of the American Academy of Management. In collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, he has organized two Partnerships for Development Conferences involving leaders of private and public organizations from developed and emerging nations. He has been presented with the golden key to the city of Kobe by the Governor of Hyogo Perfecture of Japan and has been received by the Prime Minister of China in the Great Hall of the People's Republic of China.
