Sorting Through Donations at St. Vincent de Paul

On December 2, members of Team MBA, which included seven students and Professor of Marketing Larry Feick, sorted through 2,500 donations at the Penn Hills location of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Service projects are a great way for students to interact with and give back to the community,” said Kelly Cox, a part-time MBA student studying Marketing.

“The Katz group was able to sort through clothing, toy, and home appliance donations that the society will give or sell at little cost to the neediest families in Western Pennsylvania. To be able to contribute to a worthwhile cause with peers, especially during the holiday season, was a fulfilling and rewarding experience.”

The Katz volunteers left the St. Vincent de Paul store more organized and more festive. Dan Riske, a full-time MBA student, assembled an artificial Christmas tree that had been donated and that the St. Vincent de Paul Society planned to display throughout the holiday season.
