Curriculum Development Grants (Course Development Grants for Collaborative Teaching)

The IBC provides funding to support Katz School faculty in developing faculty-to-faculty linkages across university boundaries, to teach collaboratively using communication technology. Group and joint faculty proposals as well as those from individuals are encouraged. These funds can be used to jointly develop and teach with counterparts at other institutions in the U.S. (especially other CIBER institutions) and abroad. The courses can be in any business discipline, but the collaboration must involve international dimensions of business—especially globalization—and must involve linking the classes through communication technology. All IBC funded projects to introduce an international dimension in core courses carry the requirement of sharing the results with other faculty who regularly teach sections of the same courses. The premise of the program is that most courses can be taught from an international perspective without altering the course's fundamental objectives. In addition, the IBC would like to encourage internationalization of courses through guest speakers, including international guest speakers who join a class via technology. The course grants are available at graduate (including PhD) and undergraduate levels. The program will utilize the Katz School's Lotus Notes-based Learning Space and its technology classroom, B75 Mervis to link students and faculty remotely.
