Katz Graduate School of Business International Linkages
The IBC has worked intensively to form linkages with colleges and universities around the world to facilitate study and research abroad.
Latin America
The University maintains a linkage with the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Monterrey, Mexico; building upon the existing exchange agreement with that institution, primarily through the University's School of Engineering, MBA and CBA students have taken advantage of course work opportunities at Monterrey Tech, and the CBA has begun to accept Monterrey undergraduate students to come to Pittsburgh as part of that institution's Study Abroad program. The Katz School also has an exchange agreement with the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria, in Valparaiso, Chile, which has provided a base for the MBA/MIB students to pursue internships.
Western Europe
The Katz School has formal exchange agreements with four German institutions: the Universitat Augsburg, the Fachhochschule Pforzheim, Universitat Witten-Herdeck and the European Business School (near Frankfurt). The Augsburg relationship is among the oldest and deepest in the University and the Katz School. Katz faculty have served as visiting professors in Augsburg, and Augsburg faculty have visited the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to the usual faculty and student exchanges, the students in the Universitat Augsburg's own EMBA program spend one semester at the Katz School taking classes with the full- and part-time MBA students, and Katz faculty teach the Augsburg students in the courses in Pittsburgh as well as some courses in Augsburg.
These relationships have created opportunities for U.S. Katz School students and faculty to have high quality international experiences via study tours, CBA internships and research trips and the MBA.
