Foreign Language Study for Business Students

The Katz School has made foreign language instruction a core program for MBA students and offers specialized programs to meet your particular scheduling and content needs. Foreign language courses for MBA students focus on business communication and can be fit into the one-year program. In addition, you may receive elective credit toward your MBA when you take a foreign language. Elementary French, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish are regularly offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. In addition, you may elect to take a less commonly taught language important for Americans who plan to work in emerging market countries, such as Portuguese or the Slavic languages of the Eastern European countries.

Foreign Language Instruction for Undergraduate Business Students

Mastering a foreign language is an important step in preparing for your business career. In the future, all business practitioners will be doing business internationally. IBC has worked with the language departments to develop foreign language courses geared toward undergraduate business students. Eight languages include business content: Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and Russian. But you don't have to be limited to these eight languages; the University offers instruction in 30 languages, which include such less commonly taught languages as Slovak, Hindi, and Tamil.
