Geylani Honored as 2009 Young Scholar
Congratulations to 2009 Young Scholar, Tansev Geylani, Assistant Professor of Business Administration. The bi-annual Young Scholar award from the Marketing Science Institute singles out scholars likely to be leaders in the next generation of marketing academics.
Geylani's research focuses primarily on distribution channels and retailing, particularly the impact of retailer's asymmetric power on channel relations. His research interests also include information sharing and co-branding.
Geylani joined the faculty of the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in 2004 after having earned a PhD and MS in Industrial Administration (Marketing) at Carnegie Mellon University. He also earned an MBA from Koç University in 1999, and in 1997 earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Turkey. He currently teaches Marketing Research to undergraduates.
"I feel honored and I'm looking forward to sharing research with other Young Scholars," says a modest Geylani.
The 2009 Young Scholars will have that opportunity at a four-day meeting in Park City, Utah in March according to Ross Rizley, Research Dirctor for MSI. Rizley says it's an event that has the potential to pave the way to future research collaboration between the 25 or so attendees.
