What's New with the Finance Faculty

- We are pleased to welcome Professor Sara Moeller to our faculty. Moeller’s research interests are in the area of corporate finance, and she has published in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Banking and Finance.
- “Why do private acquirers pay so little compared to public acquirers?” a working paper by Pitt Business finance faculty members Leonce Bargeron, Frederik Schlingemann, and Chad Zutter along with René M. Stulz, the Everett D. Reese Chair of Banking and Monetary Economics at the Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, has been added to the National Bureau of Economic Research Working Paper Series.
- “Financial leverage and bargaining power with suppliers: Evidence from leveraged buyouts,” a working paper written by Pitt Business Associate Professor of Finance Shawn Thomas; David Brown, the William R. Hough Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Florida; and C. Edward Fee, an associate professor of finance in the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, will be presented at the Swedish Institute for Financial Research’s conference, The Economics of the Private Equity Market, in August.
