EMBA Candidate Evaluation
Candidates are evaluated based on the following:
Professional experience and potential
A minimum of five years of professional experience is required for consideration. The applicant should currently be in a management position. Ten years is recommended, and the average EMBA Worldwide participant has 14 years of experience.
Individuals who are reentering the workforce or encountering a career transition, please contact EMBA Worldwide for more information.
Previous Academic Performance
An undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent is required. Additionally, for candidates with less than a 3.0 GPA, a GMAT will be required. Strong prior academic performance or exceptional test scores can compensate for individuals in the early stages of their career development, and in all cases, applicants must have a clear record of high job performance, strong career progression and growth potential.
Masters-Level Academic Ability (GMAT Scores)
The GMAT helps us assess the applicant's ability to perform successfully in the graduate level courses of the EMBA curriculum and is required for candidates who have:
- less than 10 years professional experience, or have a Masters degree and less than 8 years professional experience
- an undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0
- an undergraduate degree with little or no quantitative coursework
Additionally, other candidates may strengthen their applications with a successful GMAT score. When you sign up for the GMAT , you can choose to have your results sent directly to us by using GMAT code DPZ-M5-98.
Organizational Support
Supporting organizations must indicate their willingness to give their employees work-schedule support, and to allow sufficient time for classes. In addition to time off and organizational support, many candidates receive some financial support from their organizations.
English Language Proficiency
All Katz EMBA classes are conducted in English. Candidates who are citizens of a country where English is not the official language are required to present an official score from the TOEFL or IELTS as part of their application. For the TOEFL, a score of 100 or higher is desired and no score lower than 80 will be accepted. On the IELTS, a score of 7 or higher is desired and no score lower than 6.5 will be accepted. Applicants who score less than 100 on the TOEFL or less than 7.0 on the IELTS must verify their English language proficiency by sitting for an additional test of English language proficiency. Applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. are exempt from submitting an official TOEFL or IELTS score. When you sign up for the TOEFL or IELTS, you can choose to have your results sent directly to us. The TOEFL code is 2927-02.
Interview
All candidates will participate in an interview as the final stage of the selection process. The interview helps us assess your motivation to pursue an Executive MBA, your academic and professional experience, and your plans for the future.
Offer of Admissions
Admissions decisions are typically made within three weeks of receipt of a complete application package.
One of three decisions is possible. The strongest candidates may be accepted immediately, and candidates who do not meet minimum requirements will be rejected. Some candidates may have their admission delayed until three months prior class starts, when those with the strongest credentials will be admitted.
