Global Research Practicum
Katz is continually implementing new initiatives to help students thrive in an evolving global economy. One such example is the annual Global Research Practicum elective. These courses are closely tied to field study abroad, and they challenge students to consider business issues from a global perspective by exposing them to actual business environments abroad. Requirements include an individual or team research project and a 10 to12-day trip to various businesses throughout Eastern Europe, Latin America, or Asia.
Global Research Practicum students develop a research question in their area of managerial specialization and draw evidence from the field study to support their project report. While abroad, each group visits select organizations to talk with management and explore the organizations’ business practices. The trips provide students with hands-on experience in unfamiliar cultures.
International Nights
Another way the Katz School acclimates its students to unfamiliar cultures is through an annual series of International Night celebrations. International Nights are the vehicle by which international students and faculty share their culture, traditions, and native cuisine with members of the Katz community. The diversity of the student body and faculty truly enlivens the Katz MBA experience.
