Reflections on the Value of the Katz School’s Global Research Practicum
"I have had the pleasure of escorting several groups of Katz students on learning-focused visits to various countries in Latin America. We have visited all types of organizations ranging from agricultural to high tech to financial markets. The students have had an extraordinary learning experience in that they have been able to meet and talk with practicing managers and learn about business practices and expectations in different cultures and industries. The students made contacts for future business opportunities and gained a better and more accurate appreciation of the cultures and histories of these countries through visits to cultural centers, special lectures, and city tours,"

"[It] . . . was an awe inspiring trip for me. I was able to both see and experience cultures and business environments that I had previously only heard of second hand. Visiting a developing country like Peru expanded my awareness of the vastness of the world around me."

"Communicating with the locals was fun; I tried to do so at every opportunity. Some of us used a combination of introductory and forgotten Spanish with charades. The locals were eager to hear us speak English as many of them were studying English. They were willing tour guides and companions."
