The Importance of Diversity
The success of the school, our students, and alumni increasingly depends on understanding and navigating global markets. Although this idea isn't original, it suggests an interesting insight. Since all of us are deeply affected by the context in which we developed, we are limited by our background. Global thinking requires exposure to multiple contexts and diverse ideas. This means that a global business school must embrace diversity.
We embrace diversity because it allows us to be stronger. The school actively seeks to enroll a broad array of individuals-men and women-representing different nations, ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds; individuals with different levels of experience; conservatives and liberals; people with and without experience in the military; and students interested in connecting business to other disciplines and areas.
We take diversity seriously because it gives every member of the business school an opportunity to develop the skills essential to succeed in tomorrow's business environment. Diversity is not narrow; it's global. Because top talent does not come in one form or flavor, the school strives to create an environment rich in differences so as to generate true global thinking.
