Program Requirements

Work Experience

Work experience can be an important differentiator for you during the admissions process. Moreover, it is important as you seek post-MBA employment. Although work experience is not an absolute requirement for admission to the Katz MBA program, it helps us distinguish one applicant from another.

One-Year MBA Program

  • An undergraduate degree in business from an accredited college or university or an undergraduate degree in an ancillary field (e.g., economics, engineering) with some exposure to business courses, to be reviewed by the admissions committee;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English) scores; and
  • At least two years of relevant work experience.

Two-Year MBA Program

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL scores (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English); and
  • Work experience is preferred but may be substituted with strong academic ability, to be reviewed by the admissions committee.

MBA/MS-MIS Program

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL scores (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English); and
  • Information systems (IS) credentials and/or IS work-experience are expected.

MBA/MS-Engineering Program

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL scores (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English); and
  • Work experience is preferred but may be substituted with strong academic ability, to be reviewed by the admissions committee.

MBA/MPIA Program

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL scores (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English); and
  • Work experience is preferred but may be substituted with strong academic ability, to be reviewed by the admissions committee.

MBA/JD Program

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL scores (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English); and
  • Work experience is preferred but may be substituted with strong academic ability, to be reviewed by the admissions committee.

MBA/MIB Program

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Satisfactory GMAT and TOEFL scores (TOEFL required for students whose native language is not English);
  • Work experience is preferred but may be substituted with strong academic ability, to be reviewed by the admissions committee; and
  • Candidates are required to identify a foreign country of interest in whose native language he or she is proficient and where he or she will conduct an internship.
