Bill Friday (MBA '97) is an account manager for Eli Lily and Company. Based in Pittsburgh, he sells pharmaceutical products to health plans in the western Pennsylvania region and oversees a sales portfolio valued at more than $130 million.
"Katz helped me to think strategically and consider choices from the big-picture perspective," Friday says.
Friday recalls the emphasis that Katz placed on group projects and excelling as a member of a team. That taught Friday to embrace flexibility, value teamwork, and demonstrate leadership - three skills that even today help him to persevere over the sea of changes in the pharmaceutical industry.
"The Katz MBA taught me how to use data to help customers make decisions. It helps take the emotion out of decision making, so that people can make better clinical and financial decisions," Friday says.
