Transformation
A Vision of Your Future
As you embark on your graduate business education, you bring with you a set of academic, professional, and social experiences, as well as a vision for your future. The expectation you have coming to an MBA program is that you will undergo a transformation, that you will build an academic foundation that will provide you with the knowledge and tools to approach business in a different manner than before. You will have experiences that will shape your mind and approach to problem solving, strengthen your ability to analyze complex business issues, lead people, drive for results and work as an effective team member. This transformation begins with an assessment of you.
Strong and effective career development and leadership is built on sound "knowledge of thyself." Right from the start of your MBA program you will have the opportunity to take a self inventory with assessment tools such as CareerLeader, [Career Services site/Working with Students/career-leader.doc] 360 competency assessment, and the development of your own personalized career plan. A career counselor will help you interpret and utilize the results of these assessment tools, ultimately leading you to develop clearer perceptions of yourself and your career goals.
Building on this self knowledge and intended career focus, our MBA students can choose from a rich toolbox of: professional development workshops, project courses, case competitions, leadership training, and extracurricular activities, as well as assistance from staff and faculty. We want to ensure that you successfully reach your career goals, and in order to do so we are ready to help you along the path you’ve determined and that you own.
