The University of Pittsburgh's Phi Beta Lambda Chapter Brings Home the Gold from State Leadership Conference
For a second consecutive year, the University of Pittsburgh chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) made a remarkable showing at the 2009 Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference. Twenty-eight members of Pitt's PBL, all students enrolled in the College of Business Administration, attended the conference in Harrisburg, April 3-5. In addition to attending workshops, keynote speeches, and general sessions and networking with students and advisors representing PBL chapters from across the commonwealth, Pitt PBL members competed in 20 out of the 47 performance-based events at the conference. The Pitt students took first, second, or third place in 95 percent of the events in which they participated. The chapter took home 11 first place awards, eight second place awards, and three third place awards. In addition, the chapter was a runner up for the Gold Seal [Outstanding Chapter] Award of Merit.
