Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business International Program Launches Executive Series for Business Professionals

PITTSBURGH—Continuing in its more than 30-year tradition of executive business education excellence, the Joseph M. Katz Graduate Business School International Executive MBA (IEMBA) program will launch the next phase of groundbreaking programming with the Pittsburgh Executive Series for Business Administration.

The Executive Series will bring professors, researchers and consultants to the professional business community in a series of public seminars on subjects ranging from marketing to finance, decision technology to negotiation, and cost management to exportation.

These hands-on programs are designed to be real-time discussions of critical issues facing business professionals today. Each seminar focuses the business professional on business practices, current trends, developments and new strategies.

The first lecture will be at 6 p.m., October 14 at the program headquarters located on the fifth floor of 4227 Alumni Hall.

Dr. Marick F. Masters, Professor of Business Administration at the Katz School and internationally recognized expert in conflict resolution and negotiation, will kick off the event with a presentation titled Negotiating Deals: In Business as in Life, You Don’t Get What You Deserve, You Get What You Negotiate. Masters is also professor of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh and is Director of the Center on Conflict Resolution and Negotiation. His most recent book is The Complete Guide to Conflict Resolution in the Workplace and is working on a forthcoming book titled Great Negotiators.

“We are pleased and excited about the series and the opportunities it creates for us to bring together business professionals and the research community. Our executive education is truly international in scope and the series will reflect this perspective,” said Anne Nemer, Executive Director of EMBA Programs.

A cocktail reception will immediately follow the presentation.
