Faculty Accomplishments
Jacob G. Birnberg-the Robert W. Murphy Jr. Professor of Management Control Systems Emeritus-was chosen to receive the Lifetime Contribution to Management Accounting Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to management accounting education, research, and/or practice over a sustained period of time through scholarly endeavors, teaching excellence, educational innovation, and/or service to the Management Accounting Section.
Emeritus Professor of Business and Psychology Robert Perloff received the President's Award from the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality for his "unfailing support for those whose voices would not otherwise be heard."
Associate Professors Sara B. Moeller and Frederik P. Schlingemann and Assistant Professor Chad J. Zutter together with Scott W. Bauguess, an assistant professor of finance at Texas Tech University's Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration, were the recipients of two Best Paper Awards for the Journal of Corporate Finance Conference and Special Issue on Corporate Control, Mergers, and Acquisitions.
The lead article in the September issue of the Journal of Financial Economics was written by Assistant Professors Leonce Bargeron and Chad J. Zutter and Associate Professor Frederik P. Schlingemann with René M. Stulz—the Everett D. Reese Chair of Banking and Monetary Economics, professor of finance, and director of the Dice Center for Research in Financial Economics at the Ohio State University's Max M. Fisher College of Business.
