The Pitt Business Alumnae Council was founded in the mid-1990s by a small group of alumnae who were interested in expanding the visibility and strengthening the network of Katz and CBA female graduates. The Alumnae Council is focused on offering opportunities for Pitt Business women and others to network, learn and grow as leaders in the community. Pitt Business thanks Alumnae Council founders Regina Stover (KGSB ’81), Michelle Keane Domiesen (KGSB ’82, A&S '77), and Alison Frederick (KGSB ’95, A&S '85) for pioneering this effort that has led to 20+ years of growth. Membership in the Alumnae Council is open to any female graduate of Pitt Business.
Create opportunities for alumnae and current undergraduate students from the College of Business Administration and MBA students to build a community where they share perspectives, discuss professional strategies, and build authentic relationships.
What We Do
Each year, the Council hosts several events for undergraduate and graduate students and alumnae and awards one or more scholarships.
Women’s Leadership Conference: Each spring, the Alumnae Council works with students from both the College of Business Administration and Katz Graduate School of Business to host a conference focused on women’s leadership. Participants get the opportunity to hear from a distinguished female alumna of the University of Pittsburgh, participate in round table discussions, and network with current students and other alumnae. The 2020 Conference will be held on April 4, 2020. View a gallery of the 2019 Conference.
Pitt Business Tea: Each fall, together with the College of Business Administration, the Pitt Business Alumnae Council hosts an afternoon tea to kick-off the new academic year. During the event we highlight certain student organizations that provide opportunities for female students to continue their education outside of the classroom and facilitate the development of connections between students and alumnae.
Round Table Discussions: Several times throughout the academic year, alumnae host students from both the College of Business Administration and Katz Graduate School of Business in their homes for a dinner and conversation.
Each year the Pitt Business Alumnae council awards one or more scholarships to a female student who is currently enrolled in a Masters of Business Administration degree program at the Katz Graduate School of Business. Scholarships are awarded at the Annual Business Alumni Awards Program.
How to Get Involved
We are always looking for alumnae who are willing to share their experiences and what they’ve learned with students in semi-casual environments. If you are interested in joining the Pitt Business Alumnae Council or want to learn about the different ways you can get involved, please contact Brigette Koreny at firstname.lastname@example.org.
