The Center for Branding was established at the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in 2016. The center is founded on the belief that an organization's brand name and reputation are among its most valuable assets.
Brands must be carefully built and managed, and the digital environment provides new challenges and opportunities. This environment is incredibly dynamic and fast-paced. New theories and conceptual frameworks are needed to meet these challenges head on. The businesses that excel are those who utilize best practices and hire talented marketing professionals.
The Center for Branding is committed to advancing the principles of excellence in brand management, with a special emphasis on the digital landscape. The center strives to accomplish this through its commitment to cutting-edge research, educating business leaders, partnering with industry, and collaborating with other academic partners both inside and outside of business schools, at the University of Pittsburgh and beyond.
The Center for Branding is supported by a world-class business school faculty at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business who are leaders in various subdisciplines within business including marketing, finance, information systems, accounting, supply chain management, and many others. There are various synergies across these disciplines that inform our understanding of how to value brands, how to manage brands, and how to measure brand equity.
