Congratulations to the December graduates of the master’s degree programs from the University of Pittsburgh School of Business, home of the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. To celebrate the accomplishments of approximately 100 graduates from the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Science programs, faculty, staff, and other supporters gathered at a reception on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Alumni Hall.
After sharing his congratulations, Gene Anderson, Henry E. Haller, Jr. Dean, asked the graduates to applaud the faculty, staff, family, friends, and loved ones who inspired, guided, and supported them.
He concluded by giving the graduates a few words of advice: “Keep things in perspective, pay attention to trends and data, and remember things are never as good or as bad as they seem. Second, you must be present to win. Third, be human, be kind, be helpful. Fourth, be soft on people and hard on ideas. And finally, practice gratitude and forgiveness.”
Amy Nardo, associate director of employer engagement, presented the graduates with Pitt Business pins, and William Sapon (MBA ‘17), president of the Pitt Business Alumni Association, welcomed the graduates into the Alumni Association.
“I invite you to join me in supporting the school,” said Sapon. “We are partners in a lifelong relationship of mutual support. I encourage you to represent Pitt proudly.”
These graduates mastered key business principles through real-world, integrated learning, which is a hallmark of a Pitt Business education, and are now joining the 33,000 Katz business alumni, in nearly 90 countries who are using business as a force for social good.
The graduates also had the opportunity to attend the University Winter Commencement on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the John M. and Gertrude E. Petersen Events Center.
