Profile

Michael Silvio is a versatile business leader and educator with over 20 years of professional experience. A lifelong Pittsburgher and alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, Mike has held significant leadership roles across multiple industries.

Early in his career, Mike served as a Project Manager for Turner Construction. Following the completion of his MBA, he transitioned into the energy industry, leading strategy and corporate development initiatives that resulted in high-value partnerships and acquisitions. At FedEx, he specialized in pricing strategy and complex negotiations, notably contributing to the Network 2.0 transformation to ensure customer experience targets were met during large-scale business shifts.

In addition to his corporate career, Mike completed his Doctorate in Leadership and Administration at Point Park University. Before joining the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, he taught in the Accounting and Taxation program at Robert Morris University, where he also served as the faculty advisor for the pickleball team.

Personal Interests

Mike is a highly accomplished multi-sport athlete, having won competitions in boxing, racquetball, and pickleball. He has competed at the highest level on the APP Tour and PPA Tour. Beyond his own competition, Mike is dedicated to the growth of the sport, mentoring and training several athletes who have successfully transitioned to the full-time professional pickleball ranks.
